On Overview of Manila! (At least the part we can see from our Apt!)

 When you think of the Philippines, this is probably not the first picture that comes 

to your mind! We went up on the roof of our apt. building (40 stories high) a few 

weeks ago and this is what we saw! Here we are looking west. At the bottom left

 is Robinson's  Mall where we walk to shop. The main road going from north to 

south here, is EDSA. Not bad traffic on a Sat. morning! This area is Mandaluyong.

 Looking straight down off the roof here is our swimming pool! We didn't think 

of getting in it the first 6 months we were here but around Dec. we did. The water

 was FREEZING but the exercise was great for us. The green area just up from the 

pool is a golf driving range. They have no clubs but lots of old balls with netting around 

to keep the balls from killing people in the street!!! 

Here is what out complex looks like from the street level. Can you see the frame 

on top of the first building? That is where the driving range is!!!

 Southwest corner of our building, you can see the Pasig River. It is not clean or pretty. 

EDSA crosses the Pasig and that is the way we go to our Church in Makati. 

That is where those tall buildings are! Makati is the business district of Manila.

This is the area to our east. 

Lots of warehouses.

 Facing northward, we look down on our tennis court and the street there is Madison. 

That is the street we go on every morning which leads to EDSA and to work - 

the opposite direction from our church.

This picture is taken from the tennis court level. This looks up on our apt. 

We are on the 19th level just above the first set of five cement bars. 

We are the apt. right in the little alcove!

 This orange building is one of the three towers of our complex. Two are orange,
we are gray. The white building is the one directly out our 

window that we have watched be built!

It is progressing slowly!

We got a special surprise this week and got to go on the roof of the PAO.

This side overlooks the Medical Recovery Center (MRC) and the MTC.

We live in the group of high rises showing behind the MTC.

When we first arrived in June, the MTC had just been finished and dedicated.
This is how the lot looked behind the PAO.

The temporary quarters were taken down and the grounds crew took over.
